G.I.Joe Mauler Driver - Pilot, Heavy Metal v1 came with a brown, removable microphone that attaches to his molded, non-removable helmet. This microphone is very hard to find, and it alone is often worth more than the entire Heavy Metal figure without a mic.
Other than the rare microphone, there really aren't many issues with obtaining a NM Heavy Metal figure. As with all pilots / drivers who are designed to go in and out of a cockpit, look out for paint wear to the boots, especially the tips; his knees (from jamming it into the cockpit); and the top of the head (from the canopy slamming on it). The gold logo and gold pistol on his chest mold's black jacket may have paint wear. He also should have a blue 3 inside two circles logo on his right jacket sleeve.
As with all Joes equipped with weapons having hard plastic straps, due to age and play use, the straps on Heavy Metal's submachine gun are frequently broken at one or both ends where they attach to the weapon.
Heavy Metal is correctly spelled as 2 words.
