The 1982 Hawk v1 figure, missile commander Clayton M. Abernathy, came packaged with MMS ( Mobile Missile System ). There are not a lot of concerns with getting a Hawk v1 in great shape. For paint wear, look out for the silver patches and suspenders, and as with all figures with a removable helmet, look out for paint wear to the hair and eyebrows. In general, Hawk is easier to find in great shape than other vehicle drivers because the MMS has no cockpit on seat for him to be shoved in and out of, which often would lead to paint issues. The hardest thing about collecting Hawk v1 is getting a good file card, which was on the back of the MMS box.
As with all straight-arm G.I.Joe figures, the elbows are a concern. They may be cracked, chipped, or even discolored from stress.
