Publishing History: This series was published by Marvel Comics from January 1987 until April 1987 as 4-Issue Mini-Series. These 4 issues were written by Michael Higgins with pencils by Herb Trimpe and ink by Vince Colletta and Nel Yomtov (longtime Transformers colorist).
There are direct and newstand versions of this series. Direct issues generally came from comic book stores, while newstand issues came from grocery stores, convenience stores, and of course newstands. The direct editions of issues 1, 2, and 4 all came with Spider-Man's face (black symbiote costume) in the space where the barcode would normally be, while while the direct edition of Issue 3 notably did not have a bar code box at all on the front cover, revealing more of the artwork by the Baroness's head in the bottom left corner. All 4 newstand editions have a barcode. Neither version is necessarily worth more than another.
